Society of Universal Cartographers
The Society of Universal Cartographers is a non-profit SolGov organization that seeks to map as much of the galaxy as possible for public access of information by human pilots. The organization was founded in the year 2420 by the Universal Mapping Act, which states that all discoveries of new celestial bodies and/or intelligent species that may inhabit those bodies must be registered with the government before any territorial claim may be laid by a private entity. Failure to follow the treaty means that any claim is void unless it is filed with the organization first. The first legitimate registration is legally recognized as the first claim.
The organization is comprised mainly of pilots and scientists, but it is administrated by the USDF as a civilian auxiliary.
