=Secret of the Trade=
While playing SS13 you may notice that as long as you stand still and remain on the same hand, you can '''perform multiple actions simultaneously''', and surgery is no exception; as long as you don't swap hands, you can quickly operate on multiple areas of a patient's body by using the numpad to target limbs and clicking immediately. For example:
*A patient has two broken bones - one in his right hand, the other in his left leg - and internal bleeding in his lower body.
*Press 4 on the numpad twice to target the right hand and click with a scalpel in hand (or IMS if you have it), then immediately press 3 on the numpad to target their left leg and click, then press 2 on the numpad to target the lower body and click.
** This will queue up three operations about as fast as you can target and click and they will all complete at roughly the same time if you're fast enough. Note that the operations must complete before you're allowed to move and/or switch hands.
*Target the right hand again through the same method with the hemostat in your other hand. Target the other areas through the same method and await for all three to complete.
*Repeat the above for queuing up retracting the skin.
*Use the Fix'O'Vein on their lower body to patch up the internal bleeding, as it is the most important.
** The following three steps can be done instantly with a boneclamp.
*Queue up using the bone gel on the right hand and left leg. This should only be two clicks in total, and shouldn't concern the lower body.
*Queue up using the bone setter.
*Queue up using the bone gel.
*Target and click the right hand, lower body, and left leg with the cautery to seal up all incisions.
Congrats, you're probably one step (or many, even) ahead of the rest of the surgeons.

A Guide to Surgery In General

All surgery requires the set of medical tools in the Operating Theatre, along with an operating table. Ideally, only Surgeons and the Chief Medical Officer can perform advanced surgery. Remember to let each step complete fully, else you risk harming yourself or your patient like playing dangerously and want to ace that surgery.

Ghetto Surgery

Don't. It's not worth it. No one wants to see blood, guts, and a sweaty physician trying to extract an appendix from someone on the bar table.

Surgical Tools

Surgery tools aren't common and are pretty much only found in the operating rooms.

The following are the standard surgical tools most doctors will need:

Infection

Place on gloves and wash your hands before every surgery. Failure to do so will result in giving your patient an infection which, if left untreated, can be deadly. Apply ointment to the afflicted areas quickly if you fail to wash your hands before starting surgery. Make sure to clean your tools after every surgery as well with a spray bottle of either space cleaner or sterilizine

Prepping for Surgery

Please ensure that your patients are properly diagnosed and scanned in a body scanner before starting the operation, and that all medications and personnel needed for the procedure have been prepared.

NOTE: If anyone is pulling on the patient, the surgery will not work properly! Make sure no one is pulling the patient!

Surgery List

There are many different types of surgeries that can be performed. Sometimes it will be necessary to have the patient hooked up to an IV or someone on standby to inject medications during the procedure.

The first steps of most surgeries.

Closing a Surgical Site

The final steps of most surgeries.

Bone Repair
